Recipe of Rava Ladoo


  • 1 cup rava or semolina
  • 3/4 cup fine sugar
  • 1/3 cup coconut powder
  • 1/4 cup clarified butter or ghee
  • 1/4 teaspoon cardamom crushed
  • 1/4 cup milk boiling hot
  • 2 tablespoons cashews crushed
  • 1 tablespoon raisins


  • Roast the cashews for about 2 minutes in a spoon of clarified butter in a heated pan till it is light golden brown. Ten add raisins and roast Add raisins and roast till they are puffed. Turn off the heat and keep aside.
  • Heat clarified butter in a pan and roast rava till it changes the color lightly. Stir continuously to make sure rava is roasted evenly. Add coconut and roast for about 2 minutes, stirring simultaneously.
  • Add nuts, cardamom, and sugar. Stir to mix them well. Put off the heat.
  • Add hot milk to make the mixture moist. Mix well.
  • Allow the mixture to cool a bit, then make small balls of the mix. Use milk as and when needed to make the balls stay.
  • Wait for an hour before you serve them.
