Mediterranean Diet
The Mediterranean Diet Plan is currently one of the top three diets in the world. Effective in weight loss and the weight management, the Mediterranean Diet is inspired by the traditional food types and habits of people of Spain, southern Italy, southern France, and Greece and specifically the Greek island of Crete, and parts of the Middle East.
Unlike its name, this diet is not typical of all Mediterranean cuisine. The diet emphasizes consuming abundant plant foods, fresh fruit as the typical daily dessert, olive oil as the principal source of fat, dairy products especially fresh cheese and yogurt, and fish and poultry consumed in low to moderate amounts, zero to four eggs consumed weekly, red meat consumed in low amounts, and wine consumed in low to moderate amounts.
