Also known as The Lemonade Diet, has been followed by Beyonce Knowles, Ashton Kutcher and Angelina Jolie to shed excess pounds. This is a strictly liquid diet comprising of 6-10 glasses of lemonade (made of water, lemon juice, maple syrup, and cayenne pepper) a day for 10 days at a stretch! It also includes a laxative tea in the night. The point to be noted here is that why will you need a laxative if you are not eating solid food!

Martha's Vineyard Diet Detox: Better known as 21 Pounds in 21 Days claims that it is not a weight loss diet. Well the name itself contradicts the claim! Again a liquid diet full of soups and shakes, juices and herbal teas and not to forget, lots of water. Intake of supplements and coffee enemas are also suggested. Stella McCartney and Madonna have tried this diet but a lack of solid food for 3 weeks is a bit too much! Also who needs enemas of coffee? Think it over!

The 8 week program involves eating raw fruits and veggies, proteins and drink tea, raw juices, and lots of water. A distance from dairy products, alcohol, fried and processed foods has to been maintained. Although the diet itself can prove to be healthy and detoxifying but the lack of calcium can cause problems. The 3-Day Fruit Flush Diet


The 3 day plan ensures a loss of 10 pounds! The diet allows only protein shakes for the first day and raw veggies and fruits, and a bit of lean meat, every 2 hours for the remaining 2 days. This diet cuts down your fat intake which will help you loose weight. But if carried on for longer periods, the fat soluble vitamins A, D, E and K will be missed out! So if you start this diet, don’t forget to stop it in time for your better health!

The Fast Track One-Day Detox Diet

It proceeds in 3 stages, the first ‘preparation stage’ lasting for 7 days, followed by a one day fast as the second stage and then repeating the first stage for 3 days being the ‘sequel stage’. While on your first stage you’ll be befriending the loo! The diet for it will consist of 1-3 liver loving foods (green veggies, oranges, eggs, Brussels sprouts and broccoli), 2 servings of lean meat, 1 colon loving food (carrots, apples, berries), some olive oil and plenty of water. The last stage is a shortened version of first stage except you have to consume low-fat yogurt with live, active cultures.
