Diet for Arthritis
Arthritis is an inflammation of one or more joints, which is very painful, it brings with it swelling and limited movement of joints. Arthritis is commonly seen in middle age group and risk of arthritis is added in case of overweight or obese people.
Arthritis implicates the breakdown of cartilage. Cartilage typicallyguards the joint, allowing for a smooth movement. Cartilage also absorbs shock when there is any kind of pressure on joint while jumping, jogging, running etc. Without the normal amount of cartilage, the bones rub together, causing friction which causes pain, swelling (inflammation), and stiffness in joints.
There are different types of arthritis, each of which has a different cause.
-Rheumatoid arthritis occurs due to an auto immune reaction in our body which damages the cartilage.
-Gouty arthritis is caused by deposition of uric acid crystals in the joint that results in subsequent inflammation
-Osteoarthritis which is most common type occurs following shock to the joint, following an infection of the joint, being inactive, or simply as a result of aging.
