Weight Loss Diet: Going for an Organic Diet Plan

Once a teacher in my school, while on inspection during the lunch time, said that the reason why almost all of our generation is either too fat or too skinny; is that we don’t eat good food. It was baffling because we all had brought in our lunchboxes packed with healthy nutritious food – green leafy vegetables, cottage cheese, whole grain bread, even salad and fruits. Then what invited such a remark we wondered. One of guys in the group even asked for further explanation. The teacher replied that our food was like water in a glass that had just been sprayed with mosquito spray. Eew! That’s gross. We could not decipher still. And it is then that he gave us an informative lecture on ‘genetically modified’ food (that which we consumed) and ‘organic’ food (that which we should consume).

Sorry, to have bored you with some (seemingly) irrelevant story. You opened this blog expecting to find a solution to weight gain issues, right? Well, here it is – The solution is ORGANIC FOOD DIET PLAN.

It is noted that pesticide exposure is linked to increase in body mass index (BMI) and accumulation of abdominal fat; also insulin resistance. Consuming naturally grown (organic) fruits and vegetables reduce this risk.

By eating conventionally grown foods, we indeed are having highly fertilized (and pesticized) food products that expose us to the consumption of harmful chemicals. Furthermore, leading us to eat less nutrients. We probably would have got far more amounts of them in the same portion of organically grown food. For example, a medium sized organically grown apple will contain the same amount of nutrients which a genetically modified apple would be having. It is for the simple logic that while use of certain chemicals may act as catalyst to faster yield production, and fuller looking fruits, they have no power to increase the nutrient content. So organic foods are a healthier option because they have nutrient density.

Noticed your mother choosing smaller not so perfect looking fruits and vegetables over the bigger and the shinier ones? This is for the same reason, the perfect appearance owes to injected chemicals that translate into empty calories in your food.

So figured out why following a well charted diet plan is not producing the desired results? Eating these artificially inflated food items are inflating you too. As empty calories are all you will feed on, weight loss will remain a far fetched dream. No matter whichever diet plan you try, what’s the point if the good sources are still chemical coated? Going organic is what an expert dietitian will recommend. In a country like India, where food quality is increasingly being compromised more and more people are becoming the victims of modern lifestyle diseases like obesity. An organic Indian diet plan for weight loss is thus the need of the hour.
