  1. Fruits and vegetables: We all know well that fruits and vegetables are treated as the best medicine for any health or skin related problem. Fruits and vegetables also help to reduce your weight that you gained because of thyroid. It is taken as high density and low calorie food that is included in every weight loss program. So these fruits should be included in your diet. Fruits that can be included in your diet are sweet potatoes, cherries, blueberries, green peppers or other nutrient-rich foods. These fruits and vegetables also protect you against any heart disease.
  2. Dairy products: Studies say dairy products are very important for proper functioning of your body. The deficiency of vitamin D in a body is one of the reasons for causing thyroid. To fulfill the deficiency of Vitamin D, you should add fortified milk to your diet. Fortified milk also provides important sources you required for your body like iodine, protein and calcium. Other dairy products that can be added to your diet are yogurt that carries a right amount of bacteria, and gives you a relief from heartburn.
  3. Seaweed: Seaweed is a good source for iodine that is must need of a thyroid patient. Seaweed offers other nutrition to the body like calcium, fiber, vitamin A, vitamin B, vitamin C, vitamin E and vitamin K. You may add seaweed in your salad or soups. Don’t use it in access as it contains iodine. So stay connected with your dietitian or doctor also while following a diet plan.
  4. Beans: Beans is another important food that should be added to your diet to manage thyroid  as it contains minerals, carbohydrates, vitamins, proteins and antioxidants. It is very inexpensive and helps you to get relief from the various problems occurs due to thyroid. It is a very good source of fiber that helps you to fight against constipation that a thyroid patient suffered from. You can make its salad, soup or use it as a side dish.
  5. Nuts: Nuts should be added to thyroid diet as they are rich in selenium. You can make snacks with nuts or use it as a salad. 8-10 nuts are enough for you in daily diet to reduce thyroid and gives required nutrients. As nuts are very delicious; do not exceed the limit as they may also gain your weight.
  6. Whole Grains: As we have already discussed earlier that a thyroid patient often suffers from constipation. Whole grain foods like rice, pasta, cereals or breads are appropriate foods that help to overcome such constipation. They help in proper digestion as they contain sufficient amount of fiber and nutrients. So you are advised to add whole grain foods to your diet plan.
